15 And The Mahomies Surprises Variety KC Kids with Custom Adaptive Bikes

Kansas City, MO (October 12, 2020) – It was announced today that the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation has provided a grant to Variety Children’s Charity of Greater Kansas City that will provide custom adaptive bikes to help kids with disabilities live an active and inclusive lifestyle.

Custom bikes are tailored to the developmental needs of six children between the ages of two and 17. These bikes are the first-ever 15 and the Mahomies’ branded bikes and each child will also receive a helmet and goody bag from the foundation.

“We are thrilled to provide these custom adaptive bikes to help the awesome kids at Variety KC have a sense of freedom, mobility and an opportunity to play with friends,” said Patrick Mahomes.

Each child and their family members gathered on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Leawood City Park in Leawood, Kansas, where they were surprised with these gifts. “The 15 and the Mahomies Foundation truly acts on their mission of providing equality for all,” said Deborah Wiebrecht, Variety Children’s Charity Executive Director. “Owning a bike is not only a childhood dream, but also a way to engage with friends, get exercise, and experience a taste of independence and confidence. Kids with disabilities have to have custom bikes adapted for their special needs and their safety. Providing these bikes for them will even the playing field and allow these kids to ride along and belong. It’s a huge step for innovation and inclusion.” About 15 and the Mahomies Foundation
